Everything you need to make your Uptown Swing, all in one place. Quantities below are for one bag. Optional details are marked so you can choose your finish before shopping.

Before you shop: If you are using a punch cutter for the grommet openings, choose your grommets first so you can select the correct punch size.
01 Fabrics
Exterior
Approximately 1 yd. (100 cm) of exterior fabric.
Lining
Approximately 1 yd. (100 cm) of lining fabric.
02 Interfacing & Stabilizer
- Lightweight woven fusible interfacing: Approximately 2 yd. (200 cm), such as Sew Woven or Pellon ShapeFlex SF101.
- Lightweight stabilizer: One 4" × 4" (10 × 10 cm) piece, such as Decovil Light, to reinforce the fabric behind the grommets.
03 Hardware
- 2 × 1" (25 mm) Snap Hooks
- 2 Gate Rings, approximately 28 mm inner diameter
- 4 Grommets, approximately 13.5 mm inner diameter
- 2 Rivets or Chicago screws. Choose 6–7 mm posts for thinner fabrics or 8–9 mm posts for thicker fabrics.
- 2 × 1" (25 mm) Strap Ends (optional)
- 1 × 11 mm Zipper End (optional)
- 1 Handmade Bag Charm (optional)
- 1 Handmade Bag Tag (optional)
04 Zippers & Pulls
- Main closure: 15" (38.1 cm) of #5 zipper tape + 1 pull
- Lining zipper pocket: 8.5" (21.5 cm) of #5 or #3 zipper tape + 1 pull
Shopping tip: One yard of #5 zipper tape is enough for both listed cuts if you use #5 for the lining pocket too. You will need two pulls in total.
05 Tassel Details (optional)
- 1 Tassel Cap
- 10–20 beads with approximately 3–4 mm holes if you want to add beads to your tassel. See the beads used in the sample.
06 Sewing Tools & Supplies
- Double-Sided Tape
- Rotary Cutter or Scissors; Pinking Shears
- Punch Cutter (optional; size depends on your grommets)
- Hole Punch or Japanese Hole Punch
- Removable Marking Pen
- Screwdriver
- Rivet Setter Tool or Rivet Press with corresponding Dies
- Loctite or E6000 Glue
- Grid Ruler
- Cutting Mat
