Everything you need for your Run Around Wristlet, organized into a simple shopping list. Quantities are for one project.

Shop the Run Around Wristlet Hardware Kit

Select Kit A for the wristlet or Kit B for the crossbody; the kit does not include fabric or zipper tape.

Before you shop: Choose the wristlet or crossbody version before shopping. The pattern advises against screw-back grommets, although the current wristlet kit lists screw-in grommets.

01   Fabrics

  • Exterior: Approx. 1/2 yd. (50 cm), plus a 3" × 55" (8 × 140 cm) piece if making the crossbody strap.
  • Lining: Approx. 1/2 yd. (50 cm).

02   Interfacing & Stabilizer

  • Approx. 1/2–1 yd. (50–100 cm) lightweight woven fusible interfacing: Sew Woven or Pellon ShapeFlex SF101. Generally not required for vinyl, cork or waterproof canvas; it can help stabilize faux leather, faux suede or vinyl with subtle one-way stretch.
  • Approx. 9" × 16" (22.8 × 40.6 cm) lightweight stabilizer such as Decovil Light.

03   Wristlet Hardware & Zippers

  • Main closure: 9 1/2" (24.1 cm) of #5 zipper tape + 1 matching zipper pull.
  • Back exterior pocket: 7 1/2" (19 cm) of #5 zipper tape + 1 matching zipper pull. Wristlet only.
  • 1 Magnetic Snap or 1 Turn Lock.
  • 1 × 3/4" (20 mm) snap hook.
  • 2 Grommets with approximately 12 or 13.5 mm inner diameter. Screw-back grommets are not recommended. Wristlet only.
  • 1 28 mm Gate Ring. Wristlet only.
  • 1 rivets or Chicago screws. Choose 6–7 mm posts for thinner fabrics or 8–9 mm posts for thicker fabrics.

04   Crossbody Additions

  • Omit: Back exterior pocket zipper, grommets and gate ring.
  • 4–6 additional rivets or Chicago screws. Choose 6–7 mm posts for thinner fabrics or 8–9 mm posts for thicker fabrics.
  • 1 additional 3/4" (20 mm) snap hook.
  • 2 × 3/4" (20 mm) D-Rings.
  • 1 × 3/4" (20 mm) Strap Slider
