Everything you need for your Kensley Tote, organized into a simple shopping list. Quantities are for one project.

Shop fabric, zippers and sewing tools separately.

Before you shop: The hardware kit lets you choose a snap configuration; its connector style is Figure 8. Extra zippers and strap hardware depend on the features you add.

01   Fabrics

• Exterior: Approx. 1 yd. (100 cm).
• Lining: Approx. 1 yd. (100 cm).

02   Interfacing & Stabilizer

• Approx. 1–2 yd. (100–200 cm) lightweight woven fusible interfacing: Pellon SF101 or Sew Fuse. Generally not required for vinyl, cork or waterproof canvas; useful for subtle one-way stretch.
• Approx. 1/2 yd. (50 cm) Decovil Light or two layers of Sew Fuse Plus.

03   Hardware & Lining Zipper

• 4 × 1" Rectangle Rings or Figure 8 Strap Connectors.
• Lining zipper pocket: 11" of #5 zipper tape + 1 matching zipper pull.
• 2 Magnetic Snaps.
• A 1 1/2"–2" decorative button (optional), or a half-moon magnetic snap or turn lock.
• 4 × 1" Strap Ends (optional).
• 4–8 rivets with 6–7 mm posts for thinner fabric or 8–9 mm for thicker fabric (optional).

04   Additional Features

• Main zipper closure: 14" of #5 zipper tape + as needed matching zipper pulls.
• Back exterior zipper pocket: 11" of #3 or #5 zipper tape + 1 matching zipper pull.
• 2 × 1" D-Rings or O-Rings; 1 × 1" Strap Slider; 2 × 1" Swivel Clasps.

• Rotary Cutter or Scissors
• Double-Sided Tape
• Grid Ruler & Cutting Mat
• Erasable Fabric Pen
• Duct Tape for magnetic snap prongs
• Fray Check for snap cuts (optional)
