Shop the Flip Lock Wallet Frame

Shop fabric, stabilizer, zipper tape and sewing tools separately.

Before you choose fabric: Both the exterior and lining must be made from non-fraying fabric. A non-directional exterior print works best because the wallet folds.

01   Fabrics

Exterior

Use vinyl, faux leather or faux suede. Without the credit card security strap, you need one piece at least 8" × 10" (20.3 × 25.4 cm). With the strap, allow one piece approximately 10" × 16" (25.4 × 40.6 cm).

Lining

12" × 45" (30.5 × 114.3 cm), about 3/4 of a standard 18" × 58" (45.7 × 147.3 cm) roll. Ripstop works best because it reduces bulk. Waterproof canvas or water-resistant canvas can also be used but adds bulk.

Fabric needs may vary with directional prints, fabric width, multiple fabrics, alterations and cutting layout.

02   Stabilizer & Clear Vinyl

  • Decovil Heavy: One 7 3/8" × 9 7/8" (18.7 × 25.1 cm) piece of Decovil Heavy.
  • Clear vinyl: One 7 3/8" × 2 1/2" (18.7 × 6.3 cm) piece of clear vinyl if adding two clear credit card slots (optional).

04   Zipper & Pull

Wallet zipper: 7 3/8" (18.7 cm) of #3 zipper tape + 1 matching #3 pull.

#5 tape and pull can also be used, but #3 is recommended.
